I tried my hand with the wheel a number of years ago, and quickly fell in love with it. I feel I’ve begun a journey that will lead me in directions I can only imagine. Right now I am a full time teacher and mother, both of which I love, but working with clay is a deeply personal creative experience. At this point I’ve chose to stay with simple, functional designs. The glazes that I create are inspired by our natural surroundings. Our two llamas – Eclipse and Moonshadow, inspire me. It seems fitting to include them in my adventure, especially since they share in my appreciation of the dirt and mud that most others take for granted.

Salamander Mugs Part 2
I took the mugs out of the kiln today, sorry I didn’t take any photos of the unfired glazing. I glazed one in Persimmon with a cream lip and a stripe down the back of Mr. Salamander; on the other he’s done up in Earthen Red with a black stripe.
